Founded in 2008 on the Kenai Peninsula and expanding to Prudhoe Bay in 2009, MagTec Alaska quickly became one of the State’s largest providers of equipment rentals, equipment services, camps, and catering in the Oil & Gas industries. With these two key locations, thousands of industry rental assests, and a company composed of top level personnel, MagTec Alaska has been an absolute go-to for companies and individuals looking to complete their projects.

In 2013, as global Oil & Gas prices began to collapse and Alaska’s industry as a whole started to find itself in uncharted waters, many of MagTec’s Alaska’s clients struggled for alternative options. Companies that weren’t prepared for this turbulent time were forced to dramatically reduce their work force and operations; this trend left the industry speechless. 

Answering The Call

When MagTec clients would call for equiment, they were now seeking qualified operators as well. As a direct request from clientelle - and a response to the industry’s downturn - MagTec Alaska swiftly answered the call. MagTec’s Management Team organized and focused itself to create solutions for clients in an ever changing marketplace. MagTec Alaska would not only provide the equipment rental resources clients had come to trust, but full operations and labor support.

The Transformation

By 2015, the company’s trasfomation plans had been executed. Working tirelessly to increase internal effeciences, MagTec was able to pass dramatic savings to clients in rental cost and qualified labor needs. MagTec’s clients could now customize their needs to complete projects on the job-site. By the end of 2016’s fiscal year, and in a struggling marketplace, MagTec Alaska had hired over 50 additional high-level employees with skills ranging from senior management, operational foreman, certified maintenance technicians, equipment operators, experienced DOT and oilfield drivers, construction staff, logistic expeditors, and qualified labor.
